Zentenar Fraktur, designed by Friedrich Hermann Ernst Schneidler for Bauersche Giesserei, is a free blackletter font with an austere bearing. Its broken curves, pointed joins, and strong shifts between broad and hairline strokes give the letters a crisp structure.
Heraldic illustration and engraved ornament share its angular shapes, making it a choice for historical publishing and fantasy packaging. The severe silhouette also suits metal music merchandise and ceremonial posters. On a heraldic label, the lettering can become part of an emblem rather than merely naming it.
