Vollkorn by Friedrich Althausen is a free book serif with firm, traditional proportions and pronounced thick-to-thin stroke changes. Its bracketed serifs and softly modeled curves give the letters a sturdy, settled shape. The result is serious but not severe.
Its connection to traditional book typography makes it a convincing choice for novels, literary magazines, and museum publishing, where the measured forms suit sustained editorial material.
