256 Bytes is a font I created in the late 1990s based on the logotype of the MITS Altair 8800 personal computer. It appears behind Maurice’s desk in series 3 of the British sitcom The IT Crowd. I recently updated the font with OpenType features.
This font includes a license that allows free commercial use, sometimes referred to as a desktop license. It allows you to install the font on a computer and use it for commercial design work. Read the license agreement for details.
Embedding the font in an app or e-book, using it on the web, or using it in anything not covered by the desktop license requires a separate license. Distributors offer different types of licenses, and you can contact the creator for assistance.
