TeX Gyre Heros by URW++ is a free neo-grotesque sans serif with clean, direct forms and an understated modern appearance. Its strokes are even and restrained, with broad curves set against crisp diagonals and firmly cut endings. The generous proportions give the lettering an open, steady texture across a line.

Technical and institutional subjects match its calm, systematic drawing. That clarity makes it useful for corporate branding, signage, and digital graphics, but publishing is its strongest setting, especially for magazine departments, reference pages, and technical editorial systems.
