Smart Frocks NF, created by Nick Curtis of Nick's Fonts, is a free high-contrast serif with the elegance of vintage fashion lettering. Broad, rounded forms meet very fine strokes and crisp serifs, producing an airy silhouette despite the dramatic changes in weight.
Fashion and beauty subjects are an obvious match, especially for magazine covers and boutique branding that benefit from its graceful curves. It also belongs on fragrance packaging and event invitations, but editorial display work is its most convincing role because the tall, refined lettering suggests couture.
