Renovare S2 by Gene Buban of FontStruct is a free reverse-contrast slab serif with an assertive, offbeat silhouette. Broad horizontal masses press against slimmer upright strokes, and the rounded forms are cut into compact, almost mechanical blocks. The weight shifts are impossible to miss.
Independent music labels and designers working in retro entertainment could use it for album artwork, posters, merchandise, and event graphics, where its dense shapes can echo oversized print, stage lettering, or stamped graphics. Its exaggerated construction recalls eccentric nineteenth-century display types and printed circus bills, making it especially suited to theatrical, carnival, and early vaudeville themes.
