Reliant Shadow Free Font

Reliant Shadow by Iza of Intellecta Design is a free calligraphic script with dramatic looping capitals and a fine outlined shadow. Its sweeping strokes change sharply in width, giving the lettering a formal, engraved quality rather than a soft handwritten look. Long curls and deep flourishes produce an unusually broad, ornate silhouette.

It can turn wedding invitations or beauty packaging into decorative penwork with a lightly dimensional effect. It also suits fashion editorials and music posters. Across these uses, the layered linework lets the words function as ornament as much as lettering.

Reliant is a free interpretation of BernhardSchoenschrift, originally designed by Lucien Bernhard, and Liberty, designed by W.T. Sniffin for ATF in 1927 based on Lucien Bernhard’s original designs.

This OpenType version includes complete Greek and Latin alphabets and complete Central European, Vietnamese, Baltic, and Turkish character sets, including all diacritical signs, punctuation marks, and additional characters belonging to these ranges.

The font also includes a Cyrillic alphabet, which was corrected with assistance from Dmitry Greshnev of Green Type for Cyrillic readers.

The font includes stylistic and contextual alternates, discretionary ligatures, swashes, tail ornaments, fractions, and number ligatures. These features provide letterform variations, and the number ligatures are attributed to Iza W.

The font contains over 800 glyphs, accessible through software such as InDesign, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and other applications.
