Port Credit

Port Credit, Ray Larabie's free modern serif display font from 1999, has the cool, dressy air of a Didone without feeling stiff. The letters pair fine hairlines with broad curves and sharp, graceful contrast, so the overall impression is polished, slightly formal, and very editorial.

It fits naturally in magazine mastheads, book jackets, boutique branding, restaurant menus, and poster titles where a free font can carry a refined tone without a lot of ornament. Because the shapes are so lean and high-contrast, it works best in short headlines, cover lines, and monogram-style initials where that sleek sweep can do the talking.
