Ophidian Font

Ophidian by Neale Davidson is a free runic display font with a distinctly serpentine build. Its symbols twist through broad rounded bends, open hooks, and tight crossings, all drawn with an even tubular stroke that feels fluid rather than carved.

Mythology, ritual, and occult themes are its natural territory. Fantasy games and book covers gain a coded, ceremonial look from the symbols, as do music merchandise and event posters. In illustrated settings, the loops can echo snakes, elaborate knots, and winding borders, turning the lettering into part of the artwork.

Ophidian is a script based on the Serpentine writing and magic runes from Origin Systems’ Ultima 7: The Black Isle. The writing was also used for the game’s copy-protection wheel.

The font includes the complete canonical alphabet and numbers, with regular, bold, italic, and bold italic styles.
