Mondo Cane by M Janet Mars is a free heavy geometric sans serif with broad, tightly fitted forms and an emphatic silhouette. Rounded bowls and circles meet hard horizontal cuts, with noticeable shifts from broad letters to much narrower ones.
A streetwear label could readily adopt its blunt confidence. The oversized round forms also suit poster campaigns, record sleeves, and sports merchandise, where lettering can become a major graphic element. In editorial design, it is particularly apt for punchy magazine section openers and cover lines.
