Moderne Fette Schwabacher by Peter Wiegel is a free Schwabacher blackletter font with broad, dark strokes and sharply cut details. Rounded letter bodies meet pointed joins and hooked tips. The result is dense and distinctly medieval.
Historical and fantasy themes make it well suited to book covers, museum publications, and role-playing game graphics. Its strong silhouette can also shape festival posters and period-inspired editorial pages, where the lettering evokes old printed texts through its broken curves and compact forms.
