Matchworks

Matchworks, by Marc A. Misman, is a free bitmap caps font with a blunt, block-stacked rhythm that feels lifted from early screen graphics. The letters are built from chunky square units and broken by narrow dark slots, giving the alphabet a rugged, modular look that reads more like assembled tiles than drawn strokes.

It fits poster headlines, game titles, zine covers, logo sketches, and title cards where a free font with obvious pixel structure can do the talking. Because the caps feel compact and constructed, Matchworks also works well for short labels, monograms, and display words that benefit from its cut-out, grid-bound texture.
