KochAltschrift, designed by Rudolf Koch of Schriftgiesserei Gebr. Klingspor, is a free calligraphic serif display font with a distinctly hand-cut silhouette. Tall, tapering strokes and knife-sharp joins give the letters an elegant severity, while the rounded forms remain compact and lively.

A historical book cover is its most convincing setting, since the dramatic capitals and uneven stroke widths recall hand-lettered signage rather than conventional text type. Museum posters, boutique packaging, and formal invitations can draw on the same mix of refinement and eccentricity.
