Ikarus Font

Ikarus by ROCI is a free retro display font with the streamlined slant of custom automotive lettering. Broad, rounded strokes taper into sharp joins, and many letters link through low horizontal sweeps. The result looks fast and engineered.

Motorsport branding and record artwork both suit its mix of speed and late-century futurism, with strong options for event posters and game graphics as well. In vehicle graphics or merchandise, the connected strokes can turn a name into a single racing emblem rather than ordinary lettering.

The Ikarus typeface is based on the Ikarus city bus company logo. Research identified three hand-drawn versions of the logo with slight differences. The typeface was created from one capital letter and four lowercase letters.

Ikarus contains 167 characters, including beginning and ending shapes that provide variation in larger blocks of text. The continuous shape along the bottoms of the letters allows integrated letter combinations.
