Hourglass by P. A. Vannucci of Alphabet & Type is a free decorative curly display font with tall, theatrical letters and dramatic changes in stroke width. Loops, knots, stars, droplets, and tiny pictorial flourishes turn many characters into miniature ornaments.
It can give a fantasy title the look of an illustrated emblem. Posters and music packaging suit its mix of sharp silhouettes and playful, hand-drawn details, especially for gothic cabaret or storybook themes. For event graphics and merchandise, Hourglass is most convincing when the lettering itself is meant to become the main illustration.
