Frizzly, created by Ben Ratcliff of FontStruct, is a free groovy display font built from swollen, pill-shaped strokes. Its letters form dense, rolling silhouettes with soft joins and almost no sharp edges. The construction is deliberately chunky and exuberant.
A music poster is an especially convincing home for these bouncing forms, whose repeated curves recall inflated lettering and 1970s pop graphics. The same lively mass suits album covers, festival branding, and playful food packaging, and in magazine design it can turn a feature title into a graphic shape connected with rounded illustrations and bold patterns rather than ordinary supporting type.
