Fraktured Humanity by johndilworth of FontStruct is a free angular blackletter font with a stark medieval profile. Broad, dark strokes break into pointed wedges, diamond cuts, and spear-like ends across the lettering. The tight joins and abrupt changes of direction make the forms look carved and slightly mechanical.
Metal album artwork is its most convincing setting. That same aggressive geometry also suits fantasy game graphics and historical festival posters, and the broken, manuscript-like texture makes a useful editorial device for dramatic magazine cover lines and themed pages.
