Fette Kanzlei by Dieter Steffmann of Typographer Mediengestaltung is a free blackletter font with the flourish of formal penmanship. Its dramatic thick-thin strokes, pointed joins, and broad curling swashes turn the lettering into an ornate, almost calligraphic silhouette.
Historical event posters are an especially convincing use, since the sharp forms suggest old proclamations and ceremonial documents. It also suits book covers, heraldic branding, and fantasy game graphics built around medieval imagery. The sweeping strokes make it strongest as a theatrical title.
