Nota dell'autore

Bongos2 by Robert Allgeyer is a free geometric dingbat font built from stark linear symbols. Thin parallel strokes, crossed lines, and compact horizontal bars give the set the direct look of notation or technical diagrams.

Designers working with experimental music and electronic culture can use it for event posters, album packaging, and game interface graphics. The concise forms read as functional signs rather than ornamental icons. In editorial design, they can become circuit-like illustrations or rhythm diagrams, linking the symbols directly to the subject.

Descrizione
Bongos and Bongos 2 differ in the vertical placement of symbols relative to the (real or imaginary) horizontal line that connects X-heads.

This font may be used like any True Type font in a word processor. It may be useful for illustrating a line of X-head musical notation, of the kind sometimes used by drummers. It may also be useful for showing the rhythm of spoken words.

Lowercase characters do not contain a horizontal line linking them. Uppercase characters are linked by a horizontal line.

Use the font with a character map that magnifies the symbols, so you can see what you are doing. Sometimes, part of a symbol (such as beams or triplets notation) may not be readily visible when inspecting a character.

The font includes whole through sixteenth notes and rests. Dotted notes are available. Eighth and sixteenth notes may be beamed, including rests and dots. There is a percussion clef, measure bar, repeats, and system close.

Triplets may also be constructed.

There is not much logic between keyboard strokes and musical symbols. Use a character map to hunt for what you need.
