Surface Medium Italique by Bruno Herfst is a free italic sans serif with broad, fluid strokes, subtle width changes, and a pronounced forward lean. Crisp angled cuts sharpen its softly swelling curves.

Photography built around diagonal lines can echo this slanted construction in magazine covers and fashion campaigns, with sweeping movement across a page, and the generous curves also suit cosmetics packaging. The recurring clipped stroke endings can become part of the imagery in music posters and event graphics, linking the lettering to arrows, shards, and other angular forms rather than leaving it as neutral text.
